Yahoo Launched Two-Step Verification and App Passwords

yahoo

In order to strengthen its user and information security measures, Yahoo has launched second sign-in verification and App Passwords.

Similar to Google’s two-factor verification, Yahoo’s 2nd sign-in verification adds an additional level of protection for your Yahoo account. within the event that your account is accessed from an unrecognized device, Yahoo would require verification through your security question or mobile number.

Note, though, that bound apps, as well as the Mail apps on iOS and android are not able to work with Yahoo’s second sign-in verification. For this reason, Yahoo is additionally implementing App Passwords.

An App password is actually a short lived auto-generated password that you simply will enter into the password field of an app that needs access to your Yahoo account. Once you are doing, the app and your device are going to be logged in and you will not have to be compelled to enter the password once more.

But if you add another app or device, you would like to get a replacement one-time App password for it. And if you would like to revoke access to an app or device, you'll be able to simply do therefore from your Yahoo account settings.
